Searching the PPSR from the Companies Register
Get information about a company's secured debts
When you search for a company on the Companies Register, you also have the option of searching the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR). This can help you find out about any secured debts a company has.
Using the PPSR search
To use the PPSR search, you must have:
- a RealMe® login
- an online services account with the Companies Register.
Log in to your account and follow these steps.
- Search for a company using the company name, company number or New Zealand Business Number (NZBN).
- Select the company from the results to see the details that are on the Companies Register.
- Select the tab, PPSR search to initiate a search in the PPSR for the company.
How PPSR searches work
There is a fee of $2 (plus GST) to search the PPSR.
When you search from the Companies Register, the PPSR uses the company's incorporation number to perform the search.
If you don't get the results you expect, you may get more information by searching the PPSR directly at www.ppsr.govt.nz.
Understanding your PPSR search results
Your search results will show a list of financing statements where the company is listed as a debtor. A financing statement gives information about a security agreement, including the debtor's name.
