We will be introducing some changes to the Companies Register annual return process in the next couple of months. As part of these changes, you will be asked to provide additional information which includes:
- Trading name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Website address
- Industry classification
These changes will be also reflected in the annual return extracts.
This information is voluntary, and if you choose to provide this information, it will be made publicly available on the Companies Register and the NZBN Register and will also be included in bulk data extracts requested by third parties. It may also be displayed on a third party website that accesses information from the Companies Register or the NZBN Register.
If you choose not to provide this information at the time of completing the annual return, you will have an opportunity to provide it by logging into your Companies Register online services account and completing the Additional Company Information section.
The New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) is a unique identifier that links to key information businesses are most often asked to share — like phone number and email address. This means you won’t have to repeat this information multiple times. Providing additional information makes it faster and easier for you to work with other businesses and government.
